This new option, called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is only available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.
This will be a one year pilot program for the 2014-2015 school year. The program may continue past the pilot year if there is strong meal participation. | Complete information
Book Release Event
Courage isn’t just for superheroes, as Grandhaven Elementary Learning Resource Center students found out. On Friday, May 23, teacher Jolene Heinrich read from the new children’s book The Boy Who Learned Upside Down to help her struggling students identify themselves as courageous learners and engage them in a series of innovative “I CAN!” exercises inspired by the book, written by a local author. Jolene Heinrich’s students each received a free copy of Boy donated by The Standard Charitable Foundation of Portland.
Students from McMinnville High School’s Media Arts Program videotaped the event, producing a video to raise awareness about the struggles and success of children with barriers to learning.
