Senior College Prep Information
Congratulations to junior Ben Stuart for being selected as the Northwest Representative for the OASC State Executive Council. This is a huge honor for Ben, as he will be working at the state level developing leadership programs for high schools across the state. Way to rep MHS, Mr. Stuart!
Congratulations to the fall athletic teams that had a collective 3.0 GPA or above. Specifically,
- Boys’ Cross Country – 3.03 (Vic Downs)
- Football – 3.06 (Ryan McIrvin)
- Girls’ Soccer – 3.27 (Emily Fellows)
- Girls’ Cross Country – 3.76 (Vic Downs)
- Volleyball – 3.70 and the 9th best GPA for a volleyball team in the state. (Hayden Sweet)
Great job to our coaches for running programs that emphasize academics first.
Congratulations to Fall Sport Athletes
Cross Country –
Congratulations to Ally Legard and Whitney Rich for their performance in the State Cross Country meet. Both finished in the top half of the race of over 140 participants. Our boys team consisting of Zane Fodge, Michael Abeyta, Devon Wilson, Arel Espinoza, Jason Kiff, Brandon Austin and Will Smothers finished 15th the team competition. Freshman Zane Fodge finished 16 overall as an individual.
The MHS volleyball team concluded their season with a first round state playoff loss at Sheldon. The grizzly volleyballers lost a tough 3 set match to the Irish. The volleyball team had five players recognized as all Greater Valley League performers, congratulations to JR Kaleigh Scanlon and JR Nate Sutton (Honorable Mention), SR Liz Logsdon and JR Kalli Dickey (2nd Team) and SR Montanna Gubrud (1st Team). Great job girls!
Boys Soccer –
Congratulations to the following all-league selections Jakob Wright and Carlos Lucas (Honorable Mention), Isaias Flores (2nd Team), Jesus Cabrera, Renee Resendez, Jonah Crown, Jose Bautista and Cameron Autencio (1st Team). Special recognition to Jose Bautista who was selected as the Player of the Year and to Coach Jory Shene who was selected as the coach of the year.
Girls Soccer –
The girls soccer team concluded this Saturday with a first round state playoff loss to Sheldon 2-0. The grizzly girls show tremendous grit to qualify for the playoffs this season. Special recognition to following players who were selected as All-GVC performers. SOPH Rosemary Ulloa, and FR Emely Cazares (Honorable Mention). FR Tori Fox and JR Kassidy Zinda (2nd Team) and JR Jazmin Rojas (1st Team).
The football team came up short in their game versus Forest Grove losing 28-20. The grizzlies were led by JR Cedric Agcaoili-Ostrom who rushed for over 150 yards and scored two touchdowns. Special thanks to all the fans especially those wearing pink in honor of Mrs. Wright who was also in attendance. Great job Grizzly Nation!
