We will move on to the 2nd round of state playoffs after our win against Oregon City. Game will be played @ Sunset Apollos on Saturday @ 5 p.m. Huge crowd was on hand…largest student body section in the past 10 years…all wearing white (it was a white-out). After the game the opposing coaches and AD commented on what an awesome student body section we have!

The Symphonic Choir attended the George Fox State Qualifying Choir Competition and received state qualifying scores from every judge! (81 is qualifying, and we got 82, 85, 87).

The Portland Trailblazer Attendance Award certificates are now available for students who maintained at least 95% for all of 2nd quarter! You can redeem your award certificate for a free ticket to a Blazer game. Students who missed 2-1/2 days or less in the 2nd quarter can pick up their Award Certificate in the Commons during lunch this week with Ms. Fong. Congratulations on your achievement of excellent attendance!
Students will make up school on June 13th 2014
Due to inclement weather school closures on February 7 and February 10th. The last day of school is now scheduled to be June 13th and is contingent upon normal calendar operation for the remainder of the year. Additional make up days, if needed, will be scheduled the week of June 16-20. MHS Graduation remains as scheduled, June 6, 2014.
Our coed varsity team placed 5th out of 12 in the OSAA State Cheerleading Championship at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland.

MAC Club CRAB FEED & AUCTION
It is once again FIRST Robotics season and the Nerd Herd team is building their next robot. This year’s competition is called Arial Assist and involves shooting, passing, throwing and defending a yoga ball. They team began their build season on January 4th and must have a completed Robot by February 18th. This year the kids will be attending two District Competitions. One at Wilsonville High School on March 21st-22nd and one at Oregon State on April 4th-5th. If they do well during the 2 district competitions, they will qualify for the Portland District Championship at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum on April 10-12th.
The kids have been meeting and fundraising for this season since this summer. They hope to be able to earn enough funds to be able to go to the District Championship. Some of the new team members are offering Nerd Herd SWAG. They are selling some really great Tumblers (Clear Red), Water Bottles (Clear Red) and Coffee Cups (Black with Red inside) for $10 and some neat pens for $1 donation. If you would like to come see the build in progress, the team meets after school until 5pm on the 1st A day of the week, every Friday’s after school until 5pm, Saturday’s 11am-7pm and Sunday’s 11am-5pm at the Evergreen Space Museum, EASA Projects room 305.
